A Review of Assessment Methods for Postural Control and Balance in Intellectual Disabilities

Background and Aims: Balance is one of the important factors that help to maintain independent life people with intellectual disabilities. A variety methods are used assess balance in these individuals. However, so far no review study has been conducted determine what kind tests this group. Therefore, The purpose was investigate assessing postural control studies on Methods: In study, a comprehensive search performed functional assessment PubMed, Medline, Web Science, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Central Register Controlled Clinical Trials, Google Scholar, Scopus, Magiran, IranDoc, Iran Medex, MedLib, SID were searched from 1991 November 2020. After collecting results, first, title then summary articles studied. If met inclusion criteria, results otherwise discarded. Results: Based criteria objectives research, 20 selected after evaluation process. All provided full text. Then, 23 Functional Assessment Tests measure Conclusion: Studies had examined disabilities several ways; therefore, it seems specific test cannot be suggested intellectually disabled people.
